Inbound trains reach Chuncheon at Chuncheon Station, with many services also stopping at Namchuncheon Station before the terminus. ITX-Cheongchun trains from Yongsan arrive in around 1h15m to 1h25m. Services from Cheongnyangni reach Chuncheon in roughly 1h05m to 1h10m. Trains from Sangbong usually arrive in about 55m to 1h, depending on the stopping pattern. From the Gyeongchun corridor, trains from Pyeongnae-Hopyeong in Namyangju arrive in around 45m, while services from Gapyeong take about 20m to 25m. Most inbound long-distance connections from other Korean cities require a transfer through the Seoul rail network.

Chuncheon is the western Gangwon Province rail terminus for services running northeast from the Seoul area. The city has two main passenger stations, Chuncheon Station and Namchuncheon Station, both served by KORAIL. Its key rail role is as the end point of the Gyeongchun corridor, linking the provincial capital with major Seoul-side stations. Trains from Chuncheon are built around ITX-Cheongchun intercity services and Gyeongchun Line regional services. Chuncheon Station is the final stop on the line and the main rail arrival point for the city, while Namchuncheon Station serves the southern part of Chuncheon and also handles both service categories. South Korea's KTX and SRT high-speed services do not serve Chuncheon directly.
