High-speed trains on the Shanghai to Huizhou route offer a choice of Second Class, First Class, and Business Class seating, with reserved seats and modern amenities. Two main services cover different stations in Huizhou:
G-series high-speed trains to Huizhou North (Huizhoubei, 惠州北) run inland via Hangzhou East, Shangrao, Nanchang West, and Ganzhou West on China’s 350 km/h (217 mph) network. These services reach 300–350 km/h (186–217 mph) on long stretches and typically complete the journey in about 6 to 7.5 hours, depending on stops.
Primarily D-series high-speed services to Huizhou South (Huizhounan, 惠州南) follow the coastal corridor through Ningbo, Wenzhou, Fuzhou, and Xiamen on lines engineered for 200–250 km/h (124–155 mph). Because of lower line speeds and more intermediate stops, end-to-end travel is usually around 7.5 to 9.5 hours.
Both options use modern EMUs (CRH/CR400) with air-conditioning, power outlets, and trolley catering. For the quickest schedules, select G-trains to Huizhou North. If your final destination is the coastal districts east of Shenzhen, arrivals at Huizhou South can be more direct despite the longer total time.
