Mori is a coastal rail town in southern Hokkaido, positioned on the Hakodate Main Line between Hakodate and the longer northbound corridor toward Sapporo. Mori has one main passenger train station, Mori Station, and rail services are operated by JR Hokkaido. The station is a useful stop for travelers moving between the Oshima Peninsula and central Hokkaido.
Services from Mori include JR Hokkaido limited express trains on the Hakodate-Sapporo axis and local trains serving nearby towns on the Hakodate Main Line. Mori does not have Shinkansen service; passengers connect to the Hokkaido Shinkansen at Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto for bullet train travel toward Honshu. Mori Station handles both local travel and selected longer-distance limited express services.
Rail routes from Mori run south toward Hakodate and Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto, north toward Oshamambe, Toya, Noboribetsu, and Sapporo, and along regional sections of southern Hokkaido. Train tickets for Mori are most relevant for JR Hokkaido local and limited express services. Book trains from and to Mori online at Rail Monsters.
