Mokpo is the southwestern terminus of South Korea's Honam rail corridor, linking the Jeollanam-do coast with the national high-speed network. The city has one main intercity rail station, Mokpo Station, and services are operated primarily by KORAIL, with SR operating SRT high-speed trains on selected Honam services.
Trains from Mokpo include KTX high-speed services toward the Seoul area, SRT services toward Suseo, ITX-Saemaeul intercity trains, and Mugunghwa regional trains on the Honam Line. Mokpo Station is the main train station for long-distance and regional departures, while nearby Imseong-ri Station serves local rail movements in the wider Mokpo area.
Rail routes from Mokpo run north through Naju, GwangjuSongjeong, Iksan, and Daejeon toward Seoul, Yongsan, and Suseo. Connections at GwangjuSongjeong and Iksan link Mokpo with other parts of Jeolla and the national KORAIL network. Book trains from and to Mokpo online at Rail Monsters.
