Lillehammer is a key passenger rail stop in inland Norway on the Dovre Line, the main railway corridor between Oslo and Trondheim. The city has one main train station, Lillehammer Station, and is served by long-distance and regional services operated by SJ Norge and Vy. Its location at the southern end of Gudbrandsdalen makes it an important rail point for travel between eastern Norway and the mountain valleys to the north.
Trains from Lillehammer include intercity services toward Oslo, regional services through Innlandet county, and long-distance trains on the Oslo-Trondheim corridor. Lillehammer Station is the central train station for these services, with trains to Lillehammer also stopping there before continuing toward Gudbrandsdalen, Dombas, and the Trondelag region. Norway has no high-speed rail serving Lillehammer; services use conventional intercity and long-distance rolling stock.
Rail routes from Lillehammer run south toward Hamar, Oslo Airport, and Oslo S, north through Otta and Dombas toward Trondheim, and along connecting regional corridors across Innlandet. Popular city pairs include Oslo, Hamar, Oslo Airport, Dombas, Otta, and Trondheim. Book trains from and to Lillehammer online at Rail Monsters.
