Braga is an important rail city in northern Portugal, located at the end of a main branch of the Minho rail network. The city has Braga station as its main passenger rail terminal, with Ferreiros serving part of the urban area. Comboios de Portugal, usually known as CP, operates the rail services that link Braga with Porto, central Portugal, Lisbon, and the Algarve.
Trains from Braga include Alfa Pendular long-distance services, Intercidades trains, and Urbanos do Porto regional-suburban services on the Braga Line. Braga station is the main train station for reserved long-distance departures, while Ferreiros is used mainly by local and regional trains. There is no high-speed rail line in Braga, but Alfa Pendular provides Portugal's fastest conventional long-distance service.
Rail routes from Braga run southwest toward Porto and the national north-south corridor, south toward Aveiro, Coimbra, Lisbon, and Faro, and northbound regional travel is usually handled through Nine or Porto connections on the wider Minho network. Trains to Braga also make the city a northern terminus for passengers arriving from Lisbon and Porto. Book trains from and to Braga online at Rail Monsters.
