Ankara is Turkey's central rail hub and the meeting point for several national corridors operated by TCDD Tasimacilik. The city has two key intercity stations for most travelers: Ankara Gar in the city center and Eryaman YHT on the western side. Ankara's position makes it the main rail interchange between western Turkey, central Anatolia, and eastern routes.
Trains from Ankara include YHT high-speed services, mainline intercity trains, regional trains, and long-distance overnight services across Turkey. Ankara Gar handles many YHT and conventional departures, while Eryaman YHT is used by high-speed trains on the western approach to the capital. Baskentray suburban rail also links Ankara Gar, Eryaman, Sincan, and Kayas for station access within the rail corridor.
Rail routes from Ankara run west toward Istanbul and Eskisehir, southwest toward Konya and Karaman, east toward Sivas, Kars, and eastern Anatolia, and south toward Kayseri, Adana, and the Mediterranean rail network. Book trains from and to Ankara online at Rail Monsters.
