Erzincan is a railway city in eastern Turkey on the main conventional corridor between Central Anatolia and the far northeast. The city has one principal passenger train station, Erzincan Gar, and services are operated by TCDD Tasimacilik. Its rail role is shaped by the Ankara - Kars axis, which links Erzincan with Sivas, Erzurum, and the wider Turkish State Railways network.
Trains from Erzincan include long-distance conventional services such as the Dogu Ekspresi, known in English as the Eastern Express, plus regional trains serving nearby provinces. Erzincan Gar handles intercity passenger trains, regional departures, and through services crossing eastern Anatolia. High-speed trains do not currently serve Erzincan, so long-distance travel uses conventional rail routes with reserved seats or sleeper options on selected services.
Rail routes from Erzincan run west toward Sivas, Kayseri, and Ankara, east toward Erzurum and Kars, and along regional sections through Divrigi and towns in the upper Euphrates area. Train tickets are useful for travel across inland Turkey where rail offers direct city-to-city links. Book trains from and to Erzincan online at Rail Monsters.
