Gimcheon sits on South Korea's main Gyeongbu rail axis between Daejeon and Daegu, giving the city both high-speed and conventional intercity rail access. The city has two main passenger stations: Gimcheon-Gumi Station for KTX and SRT high-speed trains, and Gimcheon Station for conventional Korail services.
Trains from Gimcheon include KTX services on the national high-speed network, SRT services using the Suseo high-speed corridor, and Korail ITX-Saemaeul and Mugunghwa trains on the classic Gyeongbu Line. Gimcheon Station also links with regional services on the Gyeongbuk Line, while Gimcheon-Gumi Station handles long-distance high-speed train tickets for both Gimcheon and nearby Gumi.
Rail routes from Gimcheon run north toward Daejeon, Cheonan-Asan, Seoul, and Suseo, south toward Dongdaegu, Ulsan, and Busan, and east through the Gyeongbuk Line toward Sangju and Yeongju. For regional transfers, Gumi and Daegu are common rail connection points. Book trains from and to Gimcheon online at Rail Monsters.
