Kurashiki is an important rail stop in western Okayama Prefecture, positioned between Okayama, Fukuyama, and the Chugoku inland rail corridors. The city has two main JR West stations: Kurashiki Station for conventional intercity and regional trains, and Shin-Kurashiki Station for Sanyo Shinkansen services. Mizushima Rinkai Railway also serves the industrial waterfront area from Kurashiki-shi Station.
Trains from Kurashiki include JR West local and rapid services on the Sanyo Main Line, Hakubi Line trains toward the inland Chugoku region, and limited express services using Kurashiki Station. High-speed train access is available at Shin-Kurashiki Station, where Sanyo Shinkansen services connect the city with the wider western Japan network.
Rail routes from Kurashiki run east toward Okayama and Kansai connections, west toward Fukuyama, Hiroshima, and Kyushu connections, north toward Niimi and Yonago via the Hakubi Line, and south through local links toward Mizushima. Book trains from and to Kurashiki online at Rail Monsters.
