Yes — but the rules depend on the child’s age and the country of travel.

Here’s how it generally works:

• Infants under 2 years old (on the day of travel)

→ Usually travel for free if they don’t occupy a separate seat.

→ Their name and date of birth must still be entered during booking.

→ Some routes allow you to reserve a seat for an infant (with or without extra cost) — we’ll show that if available.

• Children aged 2 to 11

→ Typically receive a 50% discount or more — depending on the rail supplier.

→ A full ticket is required, and they are assigned their own seat.

Important:

Some countries define “child” differently — for example, up to age 6 in Austria, 8 in Germany, or 11 in Spain. Rail Monsters automatically applies the correct rule based on your route and travel date.
