Inbound high-speed trains reach Asan at Cheonan-Asan Station. KTX services from Seoul Station arrive in around 35 to 45 minutes, while SRT services from Suseo reach Cheonan-Asan in about 30 to 40 minutes. From the south, trains from Daejeon arrive in around 20 minutes and services from Dongdaegu take about 1h15m. KTX and SRT services from Busan reach Cheonan-Asan in roughly 2h. Conventional Janghang Line trains arrive at Asan Station and Onyangoncheon Station, including services from Hongseong, Daecheon, and Iksan with trip lengths depending on the stopping pattern.

Asan is a major rail access point for South Chungcheong Province, positioned on the national high-speed corridor between the Seoul area and southern South Korea. The city area has several passenger stations, led by Cheonan-Asan Station for KTX and SRT services. Korail and SR both serve the Asan rail market, giving travelers access to high-speed, intercity, and regional train tickets.
