Jangseong is a rail town in northern Jeollanam-do on the classic Honam Line, positioned between Jeongeup, Gwangju-Songjeong, and the southwest rail corridor. The county is served by KORAIL, with Jangseong Station as the main passenger train station and Baegyangsa Station serving the northern part of the county.
Trains from Jangseong are mainly conventional intercity and regional services rather than Korea's high-speed KTX network. ITX-Saemaeul and Mugunghwa trains use the Honam Line for travel between the Seoul area, Jeolla cities, and the Mokpo direction. Passengers needing KTX usually transfer at Gwangju-Songjeong, Jeongeup, or Iksan depending on the route.
Rail routes from Jangseong run north toward Jeongeup, Iksan, Daejeon, Suwon, and Yongsan, and south toward Gwangju-Songjeong, Naju, Hampyeong, and Mokpo. The station works as a local access point to the national rail network rather than a high-speed hub. Book trains from and to Jangseong online at Rail Monsters.
