Hangzhou is one of eastern China's major rail hubs, positioned on high-speed corridors between Shanghai, Nanjing, Beijing, Ningbo, and inland Zhejiang. The city has several main passenger stations, with Hangzhou East handling most long-distance high-speed trains. China Railway operates all national rail services serving Hangzhou, including G, D, C, and conventional train categories.
Trains from Hangzhou include high-speed G trains on the Shanghai-Hangzhou, Nanjing-Hangzhou, Hangzhou-Ningbo, and Hangzhou-Huangshan corridors, plus D and C services for regional intercity travel. Hangzhou Railway Station remains useful for selected conventional and high-speed services near the city center, while Hangzhou West and Hangzhou South serve growing high-speed and regional flows on different sides of the city.
Rail routes from Hangzhou run northeast toward Shanghai and Suzhou, northwest toward Nanjing and Beijing, southeast toward Ningbo and Wenzhou, southwest toward Yiwu and Jinhua, and west toward Huangshan and Anhui. Book trains from and to Hangzhou online at Rail Monsters.
