Xi'an is one of China's major inland rail hubs, positioned where east-west and north-south high-speed corridors meet routes toward the northwest. The city has two main passenger stations: Xi'an North Railway Station for high-speed services and Xi'an Railway Station for conventional long-distance and regional trains. China Railway operates the city's intercity, high-speed, and overnight services.
Trains from Xi'an include G-category high-speed services on the Zhengzhou-Xi'an, Xi'an-Chengdu, and Xuzhou-Lanzhou high-speed lines, plus D-category trains and conventional Z, T, and K services. Xi'an North Railway Station handles most high-speed rail departures, while Xi'an Railway Station remains important for regular trains across Shaanxi and longer overnight routes.
Rail routes from Xi'an run east toward Zhengzhou, Luoyang, Nanjing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou, north toward Beijing and Taiyuan, southwest toward Chengdu and Chongqing, and west toward Lanzhou, Xining, and Urumqi. Book trains from and to Xi'an online at Rail Monsters.
