Main corridors include Helsinki-Tampere-Oulu-Rovaniemi, Helsinki-Turku, Helsinki-Lahti-Kuopio, and Helsinki-Joensuu, with branches to cities such as Vaasa, Jyväskylä, Kajaani, and Kemijärvi. Major hub stations include Helsinki Central, Pasila, Tampere, Turku, Oulu, Lahti, Kuopio, and Rovaniemi. VR operates Pendolino and InterCity trains on principal long-distance lines, night trains on selected Lapland routes, regional trains on shorter intercity corridors, and commuter services in the Helsinki region under local service arrangements.
