Huwei is a rail access point for Yunlin County in central Taiwan, served by Yunlin HSR Station on the Taiwan High Speed Rail corridor. The township has one main long-distance rail station, and Taiwan High Speed Rail is the primary operator for intercity train tickets in Huwei. Its position between Taichung and Chiayi makes it part of the west coast high-speed network rather than a conventional rail junction.
Trains from Huwei use Yunlin HSR Station for northbound and southbound high-speed services across western Taiwan. The station handles reserved-seat HSR services linking Huwei with major cities on the main north-south corridor. Conventional Taiwan Railways services do not stop in Huwei itself, so travelers connecting to slower regional rail usually transfer through nearby Douliu or Dounan by local transport.
Rail routes from Huwei run north toward Taichung, Hsinchu, Taoyuan, Taipei, and Nangang, and south toward Chiayi, Tainan, and Zuoying for Kaohsiung. There is no direct airport rail station in Huwei, but HSR connections toward Taoyuan support transfers for Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. Book trains from and to Huwei online at Rail Monsters.
