Zhubei is the main rail city of Hsinchu County and holds an unusual position in Taiwan's network: the city has both a Taiwan Railways station on the Western Trunk Line and the Hsinchu High Speed Rail station within its boundaries. Taiwan Railways serves central Zhubei, while Taiwan High Speed Rail uses Hsinchu Station in eastern Zhubei for intercity high-speed trains.
Trains from Zhubei cover two different service patterns. Taiwan Railways local and regional trains stop at Zhubei Station for travel along the conventional west-coast corridor. THSR high-speed trains call at Hsinchu HSR Station for north-south trips across western Taiwan. Liujia Station, on the Taiwan Railways Liujia Line, connects the HSR area with Hsinchu city by rail.
Rail routes from Zhubei run north toward Taoyuan, Banqiao, Taipei, and Nangang, south toward Miaoli, Taichung, Chiayi, Tainan, and Zuoying, and west toward Hsinchu city on Taiwan Railways services. There is no direct airport rail station in Zhubei, but rail connections toward Taoyuan link with airport transport. Book trains from and to Zhubei online at Rail Monsters.
