By comparison, direct conventional Z/K trains cover the full distance on legacy tracks at 120–160 km/h (75–99 mph) and take roughly 16–18 hours, usually calling at major hubs such as Nanjing, Hefei, and Xiangyang. High-speed trains feature modern interiors, power outlets, and trolley service; Business Class has 1‑2‑1 seating. Conventional overnighters add bunks and a dining car.
