Train tickets for Urasa cover two main service categories. JR East operates Joetsu Shinkansen services for long-distance travel on the Tokyo - Niigata axis, while Joetsu Line regional trains serve local movements through the Uonuma and Minamiuonuma area. Urasa Station is the only intercity rail station in Urasa and handles both bullet train and regional departures.
Rail routes from Urasa run south toward Echigo-Yuzawa, Takasaki, Omiya, and Tokyo, and north toward Nagaoka and Niigata.
