Jinju is a key rail city in western Gyeongsangnam-do, positioned on the Gyeongjeon Line between the south coast and the inland route toward Seoul. The city has one main passenger train station, Jinju Station, and is served by Korail and SR. Its rail role is strongest as a western Gyeongnam terminus for long-distance KTX and SRT services.
Trains from Jinju include KTX services operated by Korail, SRT services operated by SR, and conventional intercity trains such as ITX-Saemaeul and Mugunghwa operated by Korail. Jinju Station handles long-distance and regional services in one location, so most train tickets for the city use the same departure point.
Rail routes from Jinju run north toward Daejeon, Seoul, and Suseo, east through Masan, Changwon, and Busan connections, and west across the southern rail corridor toward Suncheon and Jeolla. Trains to Jinju also link the city with nearby Gyeongnam stations used for regional travel. Book trains from and to Jinju online at Rail Monsters.
