The fastest option is a G-series (Gaotie) high-speed itinerary from Shanghai Hongqiao, typically using CR400 Fuxing sets that run at 300–350 km/h (186–217 mph) on the Shanghai–Hangzhou–Hefei–Fuyang corridor. With a same-day transfer at Fuyang West or Zhoukou East, the journey to Fugou South (Fugounan) usually takes about 5.5–6.5 hours and calls at major hubs such as Nanjing South and Hefei South. In comparison, D-series (Dongche) trains cover parts of the Fuyang–Zhoukou–Fugou South stretch at up to 250 km/h (155 mph). Because they make more intermediate stops, a G + D combination generally takes around 6.5–8 hours. Both services provide assigned seating, air-conditioned carriages, power outlets, and trolley service. Business Class on select G trains offers wider recliners or lie‑flat seats, while most D trains run with First and Second Class only.
