High-speed services from Shanghai to Fuling run as China Railway High‑Speed (CRH) G/D trains. From Shanghai Hongqiao, G-trains on the Shanghai–Nanjing–Hefei–Wuhan high-speed corridor use CR400 “Fuxing” or CRH380 sets at 300–350 km/h (186–217 mph). Through services to Fuling typically operate as D-trains: after Wuhan they traverse the mountainous Yichang–Wanzhou line limited to around 160 km/h (99 mph), then accelerate on the Chongqing–Wanzhou intercity section at up to 250 km/h (155 mph) into Fuling North (Fulingbei). End-to-end times are usually about 10.5–12 hours, with key stops such as Nanjing, Hefei, Wuhan, Yichang East, and Wanzhou North. Seating is mainly Second and First Class, with air-conditioning, power outlets, and trolley service. Conventional overnight options also run from Shanghai (main station) to Fuling (conventional station) as Z/T/K trains. These make more intermediate stops, operate at roughly 120–160 km/h (75–99 mph) depending on the section, and take around 26–30 hours. They offer Hard/Soft Sleeper and Hard Seat cars, suiting travelers who prefer a direct overnight ride to the non–high-speed Fuling station.
