The fastest option is a through G-series Fuxing service from Shanghai Hongqiao, reaching up to 350 km/h (217 mph) on the Shanghai–Jinan stretch of the Beijing–Shanghai High-Speed Railway and up to 250 km/h (155 mph) between Jinan West and Liaochengxi on the Shijiazhuang–Jinan line. Typical end-to-end times are about 4 hours to 4 hours 30 minutes, with limited stops at major hubs such as Xuzhou East, Qufu East, and Jinan West. In comparison, many departures involve a same-station change at Jinan West between two G-series high-speed trains. These run at the same line speeds but usually take around 4 hours 20 minutes to 5 hours overall, depending on the transfer window and intermediate stops, and they broaden the choice of departure times throughout the day. Both options use Fuxing/CRH stock with 3+2 seating in Second Class, 2+2 in First, and spacious Business Class seats for a quieter ride. Note that conventional T/K services serve Liaocheng (city station) rather than Liaochengxi; for Liaochengxi specifically, high-speed G-series trains are the appropriate choice.
