With limited stops at major hubs such as Hangzhou East and Jinhua, the journey can be as short as about 3 hours to 3 hours 20 minutes. D-series high-speed trains (CRH models) run the full corridor at up to 250 km/h (155 mph), make more intermediate stops, and typically take around 3.5 to 4 hours. Onboard you’ll find assigned seats, air-conditioning, restrooms, and power outlets; D-series services generally provide Second and First Class, while Business Class is mainly on G-series sets. As a lower-cost alternative, conventional K/T/Z trains from Shanghai South to Lishui use the older line at 120–160 km/h (75–99 mph) and can take approximately 7–9 hours, with Hard/Soft Seat and Sleeper options.
