High-speed (G-series) trains run from Shanghai Hongqiao to Suizhounan with Second, First, and Business Class seating. The fastest services are Fuxing units (CR400 series) that reach 350 km/h (217 mph) on the Shanghai–Nanjing and Wuhan–Suizhou South high-speed sections, while intermediate stretches such as Nanjing–Hefei and Hefei–Wuhan typically operate around 250 km/h (155 mph). Direct G trains, when scheduled, cover the trip in roughly 5 to 5.5 hours with limited stops at hubs like Nanjing South, Hefei South, and Wuhan/Hankou before continuing via Xiaogan East to Suizhou South. Amenities include power outlets, tray tables, and a trolley service.
By comparison, D-series EMU services, where they appear on this corridor, run at 200–250 km/h (124–155 mph), make more intermediate stops, and can take about 6.5 to 8 hours, sometimes with a change in Wuhan or Hankou. These trains usually offer Second and First Class seating, with Business Class not always available.
Note: Conventional Z/T/K trains generally serve Suizhou (main) station rather than Suizhou South. For Suizhounan, select G- or D-series high-speed trains.
