Some departures operate as D-class EMUs on parts of the route, cruising at 200–250 km/h (124–155 mph) and adding roughly 30–90 minutes due to extra stops. Typical high-speed stopping patterns include Suzhou North, Nanjing South, Bengbu South, Xuzhou East, Shangqiu, Kaifeng North, Zhengzhou East, Jiaozuo, Changzhi East, and Xiangyuandong. Conventional T/Z/K services on legacy lines run at 120–160 km/h (75–99 mph) and usually do not reach Xiangyuandong directly; travelers connect via Xiangyuan or Changzhi for the final leg. These trains take around 15–20 hours and offer Hard/Soft Seat plus Hard/Soft Sleeper. High-speed G-trains remain the fastest choice on this route, while D-trains balance speed with broader regional access.
