High-speed trains on the Shanghai to Xinyinan (Xinyi South) route are mainly a mix of G- and D-series services. G-series Fuxing EMUs (CR400) run from Shanghai Hongqiao toward Xuzhou East on the Beijing–Shanghai High-Speed Railway at up to 350 km/h (217 mph), then D-series EMUs continue on the Xuzhou–Yancheng high-speed line to Xinyinan at up to 250 km/h (155 mph). Typical end-to-end times range from about 3 hours 50 minutes to 4 hours 20 minutes, depending on the connection and intermediate stops at hubs such as Nanjing South and Xuzhou East. Seating includes Second, First, and on some services Business Class, with power outlets and trolley service. By comparison, all-D-series itineraries that remain on 250 km/h (155 mph) corridors for most of the journey make more stops and usually take around 4 hours 30 minutes to 5 hours 30 minutes. Conventional Z/K trains are not routed to Xinyinan and, when used to reach the Xinyi area, run at 120–160 km/h (75–99 mph) and require a local transfer. For the quickest arrival, choose G-linked options via the Beijing–Shanghai HSR; D-only trains provide broader station coverage at a lower top speed.
