High-speed G-series Fuxing trains link Beijing West (Beijingxi) and Chengdu East (Chengdu Dong), offering Second, First, and Business Class seating. These services run up to 300 km/h (186 mph) between Beijing, Zhengzhou, and Xi’an, then continue at about 250 km/h (155 mph) on the mountainous Xi’an–Chengdu high-speed line, which includes long tunnels and viaducts through the Qinling range.
The fastest daytime runs, such as G89/G90, typically take around 8–9 hours with limited stops at key hubs like Zhengzhou East and Xi’an North. In comparison, overnight D-series sleeper EMUs operate at 200–250 km/h (124–155 mph), take roughly 10–12 hours, and provide through services for travelers who prefer to arrive in the morning.
Both options include reserved seating, power outlets, and onboard catering. The G-series emphasizes speed and quiet cabins, with Business Class offering wider seats with deep recline, while D-series trains feature Soft Sleeper (4-berth) and, on select departures, Deluxe Soft Sleeper (2-berth) compartments.
