As an alternative, conventional long‑distance Z/K trains (non‑high‑speed) operate from Shanghai or Shanghai South toward Sichuan, some running directly to Deyang or via an easy change in Chengdu. These services run at about 120–160 km/h (75–99 mph) and involve longer station stops, resulting in end‑to‑end times typically around 28–36 hours. They provide Hard/Soft Seat and Hard/Soft Sleeper options. Choose the G‑series plus intercity connection for the fastest overall trip; opt for classic sleepers if you prefer an overnight berth at a lower cruising speed.
