High-speed G-series trains run from Shanghai Hongqiao to Dezhou East on the Beijing–Shanghai High-Speed Railway. Most services use Fuxing (CR400AF/BF) sets operating at up to 350 km/h (217 mph), while some G trains use Hexie (CRH380A/B) stock limited to around 300 km/h (186 mph). With limited stops—typically Nanjing South, Xuzhou East, Jinan West, and select others—the journey usually takes about 3.5 to 5 hours, depending on the stopping pattern. Seating includes Second, First, and Business Class, with power outlets, luggage racks, and a trolley service for snacks and drinks. Conventional Z/T/K trains also link Shanghai (Shanghai Railway Station) and Dezhou (central Dezhou Station) on the classic Beijing–Shanghai line at up to about 160 km/h (99 mph). These trains are slower, often taking 8 to 11 hours, but they offer Hard/Soft Seat and Hard/Soft Sleeper options suitable for overnight travel. Choose a G-series high-speed train for the fastest daytime trip to Dezhou East, or opt for a traditional service if you prefer a night train and arrival at the downtown station.
