The quickest journeys usually take about 5 hours 45 minutes to 6 hours 30 minutes with one change at Wenzhou South or Fuding, while through D-trains take roughly 7 to 8 hours depending on stops. G-series trains (often CR400 or CRH380 sets) make fewer stops and run at top speed on the Shanghai–Hangzhou–Ningbo–Wenzhou high-speed corridors before a transfer to a coastal D-train serving stations such as Fuding and Ningde. D-series services generally offer First and Second Class seating, with modern amenities like power outlets and trolley service; Business Class is uncommon on this coastal line. For a more spacious ride, Business Class on G-series offers wide recliners and a quieter cabin, while First Class provides 2+2 seating with added legroom.
