All high-speed trains on the Shanghai to Hefei route offer reserved seating in Second and First Class, and many G-series Fuxing services also include Business Class. Carriages typically feature 2+3 seating in Second Class and 2+2 in First, with power outlets, luggage racks, and an onboard trolley for drinks and snacks.
The fastest option is the G-series Fuxing (CR400) from Shanghai Hongqiao to Hefei South. These trains run up to 350 km/h (217 mph) on the Shanghai–Nanjing high-speed section and 250–300 km/h (155–186 mph) between Nanjing and Hefei, finishing the trip in about 2 hours 20 minutes to 2 hours 40 minutes with limited stops, commonly at Nanjing South. In comparison, D-series Hexie services (CRH) operate at 200–250 km/h (124–155 mph), make more intermediate stops such as Suzhou, Wuxi, Changzhou, Zhenjiang, and Chuzhou, and usually take around 3 to 4 hours.
For a more premium setup, Business Class on selected G-series Fuxing trains offers wider seating and a quieter cabin.
