China Railway runs high-speed services on the Shanghai to Huangshi corridor using Fuxing G-series trains from Shanghai Hongqiao to Wuhan at up to 300–350 km/h (186–217 mph). From Wuhan or Wuchang, passengers continue to Huangshi or Huangshi North on the Wuhan–Huangshi intercity services (typically D/C-numbered Hexie EMUs) operating at 200–250 km/h (124–155 mph). With a well-timed connection, total journey time is about 4 hours 30 minutes to 5 hours 30 minutes. G-series trains offer Second Class, First Class, and Business Class, while the intercity leg usually provides Second and First Class. Stops vary by train; the fastest G trains make limited calls between Shanghai, Nanjing, Hefei, and Wuhan. Some timetables also feature through D-series Hexie trains between Shanghai Hongqiao and Huangshi North at 200–250 km/h (124–155 mph), taking roughly 6 to 7.5 hours with more intermediate stops but a same-seat ride. Conventional Z/T/K night trains run from Shanghai (main station) to Huangshi (city station) on the classic line at 120–160 km/h (75–99 mph), typically taking 10 to 13 hours and offering hard/soft seat and sleeper options. Note the station differences: high-speed services use Shanghai Hongqiao and usually arrive at Huangshi North; classic trains use Shanghai and arrive at Huangshi city station.
