From Zhengzhou East, connecting D- or G-trains—often Hexie sets (CRH2/CRH380)—continue through Jiaozuo to Jincheng East on the Taiyuan–Jiaozuo high-speed line at up to 250 km/h (155 mph). Most fast itineraries involve one change at Zhengzhou East or Jiaozuo and take about 5.5–7 hours end to end, with limited stops on the first leg (via Xuzhou East and Shangqiu) and more regional stops in Henan and Shanxi. By comparison, classic Z/K overnight trains to Jincheng (legacy station) use the conventional line at 120–160 km/h (75–99 mph) and typically take 15–18 hours, with Hard/Soft Seat and Hard/Soft Sleeper options. Travelers focused on the shortest daytime journey generally choose the high-speed route via Zhengzhou, while the conventional services suit those preferring an overnight sleeper.
