High-speed G-series trains run from Shanghai Hongqiao to Lingbao West via the Beijing–Shanghai HSR and the Xuzhou–Lanzhou HSR. These Fuxing sets (CR400AF/BF) and some Hexie units (CRH380A/B) operate at up to 350 km/h (217 mph) on the Shanghai–Xuzhou section and up to 300 km/h (186 mph) west of Xuzhou. End-to-end travel typically takes about 5 hours 15 minutes to 6 hours, with limited-stop services calling at key hubs such as Nanjing South, Xuzhou East, Zhengzhou East, Luoyang Longmen, and Sanmenxia West before reaching Lingbao West.
By comparison, conventional Z/T/K services run from Shanghai Railway Station to Lingbao (main) on the Longhai Railway at up to 120–160 km/h (75–99 mph), taking roughly 13–17 hours, often overnight. G-series trains offer Second, First, and Business Class seating with power outlets and trolley service, making them the quickest option to Lingbao West, while traditional trains provide hard/soft seat and hard/soft sleeper berths for travelers who prefer an overnight journey and direct access to the legacy Lingbao station.
