All high-speed trains on the Shanghai to Ma'anshan route run from Shanghai Hongqiao to Ma'anshan East, offering Second Class, First Class, and on select sets Business Class seating. The fastest option is the G-series Fuxing service, reaching up to 350 km/h (217 mph) on the Shanghai–Nanjing high-speed section before continuing at up to 250 km/h (155 mph) on the Nanjing–Anqing line to Ma'anshan East. Typical end-to-end times are about 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours, with limited stops such as Suzhou, Wuxi, Changzhou, Zhenjiang, and Nanjing South. D-series intercity EMUs cover the same route at a maximum of 250 km/h (155 mph) throughout, taking roughly 2 hours 10 minutes to 2 hours 40 minutes due to more intermediate stops.
Both services are modern high-speed trains with assigned seating, air-conditioning, power outlets, and clean restrooms; a trolley or station-platform vendors provide snacks and drinks. Business Class on many G-series sets offers wider seats that can recline to near-flat. As an alternative, conventional K/T/Z trains run from central Shanghai stations to Ma'anshan (legacy station) at 120–160 km/h (75–99 mph), generally taking around 4 to 6 hours and offering hard/soft seats and, on some departures, sleepers.
