High-speed G-series trains link Shanghai Hongqiao with Minquan North, offering Second Class, First Class, and on some departures Business Class seating. The newest CR400 “Fuxing” sets operate at up to 350 km/h (217 mph) on the Shanghai–Xuzhou section and around 300 km/h (186 mph) west toward Henan, completing the journey in roughly 3 hours 30 minutes to 4 hours when making limited stops at major hubs such as Suzhou, Nanjing South, Xuzhou East, and Shangqiu. Onboard you’ll find reserved seating, power outlets, air conditioning, and trolley service for snacks.
Alongside the Fuxing fleet, some services use CRH380 “Hexie” trainsets. These high-speed trains typically run at 300–350 km/h (186–217 mph) depending on the segment and timetable, but make more intermediate stops—often adding 30 to 60 minutes to total travel time compared to the fastest Fuxing runs. Both types use the Beijing–Shanghai HSR and Zhengzhou–Xuzhou HSR corridors to reach Minquan North.
As an alternative, conventional K/T/Z trains run from central Shanghai to Minquan (the non-HSR station) on the Longhai corridor at 120–160 km/h (75–99 mph). These services are slower—about 8 to 11 hours—but offer Hard/Soft Seat and Hard/Soft Sleeper accommodation and can suit overnight travel or lower fares. Note the different station pair: Shanghai Railway Station to Minquan, versus Shanghai Hongqiao to Minquan North for high-speed.
