On the Shanghai to Qinan route, G-series Fuxing high-speed trains link Shanghai Hongqiao with the northwest via key hubs such as Xuzhou East, Zhengzhou East, and Xi'an North. The eastern sections operate at 300–350 km/h (186–217 mph), while the Xi'an–Baoji–Gansu stretch, including the approach toward Qinan, runs at 200–250 km/h (124–155 mph). Most itineraries involve one transfer at Xi'an North or Tianshui South, with the fastest end-to-end journeys typically around 8.5–10 hours depending on stops. Rolling stock on this corridor includes G-series Fuxing (CR400) and D-series Hexie sets. Standard seating is Second and First Class, with some services offering Business Class; amenities generally include power outlets and trolley or dining-car service. D-series trains on the western section make more intermediate stops and are slightly slower than the fastest G-services. As an alternative, conventional long-distance services on the parallel Longhai Railway (Z/T/K trains) run at 120–160 km/h (75–99 mph) and usually take 18–24 hours to reach Qinan. These offer Hard/Soft Seat and Sleeper berths for overnight travel, with fewer onboard amenities compared with high-speed trains.
