Most services start from Shanghai Hongqiao and arrive at Qingdao or Qingdao North, with limited calls at major stations such as Nanjing South, Xuzhou East, Jinan (West/East), Zibo North, and Weifang North. Seating classes include Second Class (3+2), First Class (2+2), and Business Class with lie-flat seats, plus power outlets and a trolley or café bar for refreshments. D-series high-speed trains (often CRH2/CRH5) also connect Shanghai and Qingdao, running at 200–250 km/h (124–155 mph). They make more intermediate stops and usually take about 5.5 to 7 hours. D trains generally offer Second and First Class seating, with similar onboard amenities but fewer premium features than the G-series.
