High-speed trains from Shanghai to Sanyang are best routed via Wuxi, as Sanyang itself is not an intercity rail stop. G-series Fuxing services from Shanghai Hongqiao to Wuxi or Wuxi East operate with Second, First, and Business Class, running at up to 300 km/h (186 mph). Typical travel time is about 45–55 minutes to Wuxi and 50–60 minutes to Wuxi East, with limited-stop G trains being the quickest. D-series EMUs on the same corridor run at 200–250 km/h (124–155 mph), make more intermediate stops, and usually take around 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes. Conventional T/K/Z services from Shanghai Railway Station to Wuxi run at up to 120–160 km/h (75–99 mph) and take roughly 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 20 minutes, offering simpler seating. For the final leg to Sanyang (Sanyang Plaza in central Wuxi), transfer to Wuxi Metro: from Wuxi Railway Station take Line 1 two stops to Sanyang Plaza (about 5–10 minutes), or from Wuxi East take Line 2 to Sanyang Plaza (around 20–25 minutes).
