High-speed G-series trains run between Shanghai and Bengbu primarily on the Beijing–Shanghai High-Speed Railway, linking Shanghai Hongqiao with Bengbu South. The fastest Fuxing G-trains operate at up to 350 km/h (217 mp/h) on select sections and usually complete the journey in about 2 hours to 2 hours 15 minutes with limited stops, often calling only at major hubs such as Nanjing South. Most other G-series services, including CRH “Hexie” sets, run at up to 300 km/h (186 mp/h) and take roughly 2 hours 20 minutes to 2 hours 50 minutes due to additional intermediate stops across Jiangsu and Anhui (e.g., Suzhou North, Wuxi East, Changzhou North).
Onboard, high-speed trains offer Second, First, and Business Class. Business Class features wide 1+2 seating with deep recline; First Class is 2+2; Second Class is 3+2. Power outlets, restrooms, and luggage racks are standard, and select Fuxing sets provide onboard Wi‑Fi. All seating is reserved.
Conventional Z/K services also connect Shanghai (Shanghai Railway Station) with Bengbu (Bengbu Railway Station) on the classic line, with top speeds around 120–160 km/h (75–99 mp/h) and typical journey times of 5 to 7+ hours. These offer Hard/Soft Seat and Sleeper options but are significantly slower than the high-speed route.
