China Railway high-speed G-series trains (primarily CR400 “Fuxing” and some CRH380 sets) run the Shanghai to Dalian route, usually from Shanghai Hongqiao to Dalian North. These services operate at up to 350 km/h (217 mph) on the Beijing–Shanghai and Beijing–Shenyang sections, and around 300 km/h (186 mph) between Shenyang and Dalian. Typical journey time is about 10–12 hours depending on stops, with major calls often including Nanjing South, Xuzhou East, Jinan (West/East), Tianjin South, and Shenyang (or Shenyang North). Seating classes include Second, First, and Business, with reserved seating, power outlets, and trolley or kiosk service on board. An alternative is the D-series overnight sleeper EMU, which runs on upgraded conventional lines at 200–250 km/h (124–155 mph) and usually takes about 13–16 hours. These trains offer soft-sleeper berths alongside standard seating. Conventional Z/K overnight trains also exist on this corridor, running at roughly 120–160 km/h (75–99 mph) and taking approximately 18–22 hours, trading speed for a full night onboard and lower fares.
