Typical journey time is about 5 to 6 hours, with limited stops at major hubs like Nanjing South, Xuzhou East, Jinan West, or Zhengzhou East depending on the timetable. Trains are usually CR400AF/BF Fuxing sets offering Second Class, First Class, and Business Class seating, reserved seating, power outlets, and onboard catering carts. D-series Hexie trains also run on this corridor at 200–250 km/h (124–155 mph). They make more intermediate stops and generally take around 7 to 9 hours. Seating is mainly Second and First Class, with similar onboard essentials but fewer premium seat options. Conventional Z/T/K services connect Shanghai (usually from Shanghai Railway Station) to Shijiazhuang on classic lines at 120–160 km/h (75–99 mph), often scheduled overnight in roughly 12 to 16 hours. These trains provide hard/soft seat and hard/soft sleeper berths for travelers prioritizing an overnight ride and wider station coverage.
