High-speed G-category trains link Shanghai with Wenzhou primarily from Shanghai Hongqiao to Wenzhou South via Hangzhou East and Ningbo. The fastest services—often CR400 “Fuxing” sets—use the Shanghai–Hangzhou and Ningbo–Taizhou–Wenzhou high-speed corridors, operating at 300–350 km/h (186–217 mph). End-to-end travel time is typically around 3 hours 10 minutes to 3 hours 40 minutes, with limited-stop patterns that may call at Hangzhou East, Ningbo, and Taizhou. Seating classes include Second, First, and Business, with reserved seats, power outlets, and tray tables.
D-category EMU services also run this route over a mix of intercity and upgraded conventional tracks, generally at 200–250 km/h (124–155 mph). These trains make more intermediate stops—often including places such as Jinhua, Lishui, and Yueqing—and take roughly 4.5 to 6 hours, with some departures from Shanghai South as well as Shanghai Hongqiao, arriving at Wenzhou South or the central Wenzhou station. D trains usually offer Second and First Class seating and a trolley service for snacks. For the shortest timing, choose the G-category high-speed trains; D-category services provide wider station coverage and typically lower fares.
