Can I bring a stroller on the train?

Yes — most trains allow strollers at no extra cost, especially when traveling with young children.

However, here are a few important notes:

• Strollers must be foldable and placed in the luggage area or behind your seat

• They cannot block aisles, doors, or emergency exits

• In some countries, trains have dedicated family or stroller spaces — our system will show these if available

For night trains or high-speed routes with limited space, we recommend folding the stroller before boarding.

Can I bring a child car seat onboard?

You can — but it depends on the seat type and train layout.

• On most trains, you can place a portable car seat on your child’s seat if you’ve purchased one.

• The car seat must be safely secured and not block other passengers

• In open seating coaches (like many 2nd Class trains), space may be limited — check with our support team if you're unsure

Car seats are not mandatory for trains, but they can be useful for comfort or sleep during long trips.

Do you offer family or child-friendly seating areas?

Some trains — especially in Europe — offer family compartments or child-friendly coaches with extra space, quiet zones, or even play areas.

Rail Monsters will:

• Show this as an option during booking, when available

• Automatically assign you to family zones if you're traveling with young kids and the rail supplier supports it

Not all countries offer this, but where it’s available, our system includes it by default.
