I missed my train — can I get a refund?

In most cases, no — missing the train counts as a “no-show,” and once departure time has passed, the ticket becomes 100% non-refundable.

Rail suppliers do not issue refunds for unused tickets if the passenger fails to board, regardless of the reason — including delays getting to the station, traffic, or flight connections.

This is a strict industry policy that Rail Monsters must follow.

What if my ticket was refundable — do I still lose it after departure?

Yes. Refundable tickets must be cancelled at least 24 hours before departure. Once you are inside that 24-hour window, cancellation is no longer possible — even if your ticket is otherwise eligible for a refund.

If the train departs and you haven't cancelled, the supplier marks the ticket as used or expired, and no refund is issued.

What if I missed the train because of a delay on a previous train?

To be eligible for any kind of help from the rail operator, your entire journey must be booked as one combined ticket — not two separate bookings.

If that’s the case, the best immediate step is to go to the station staff. They can often rebook you on the next train faster than any online platform can.

However, if you already know your train will be delayed and want help in advance, contact us at [email protected]. Our team will look into options for that route and supplier — sometimes alternate rebooking or partial compensation is possible.
