Are all train tickets refundable?

No — refundability depends entirely on the rules set by each rail supplier, not Rail Monsters.

Some tickets are fully refundable, some are refundable with a fee, and others are completely non-refundable — especially cheaper or promotional fares. These rules are strict and cannot be changed once the ticket is booked. We will always show dynamically the cancellation terms before checkout.

How do I know if a ticket is refundable before I book?

You’ll see refund conditions clearly displayed before checkout. When selecting a ticket:

• We show whether it’s refundable, non-refundable, or partially refundable

• Any change or cancellation fees are visible upfront

• These rules are pulled directly from the rail supplier and apply to your exact route and ticket class

Make sure to check this before you confirm the booking.

What makes a ticket non-refundable?

A ticket is non-refundable when the rail supplier has marked it as such — usually due to:

• Discounted or promotional fares

• Short-notice or same-day departures

• Specific routes or train types that use strict booking systems (e.g. night trains or tourist-only services)

Once booked, these tickets cannot be canceled, refunded, or changed — even if unused.
