Advanced Reservation means your booking is confirmed now, but the ticket will be issued automatically later — when the rail supplier opens ticket issuance for your travel date.
It’s common in countries where ticketing systems only release seats a few weeks in advance (e.g. Japan, France, Austria).
Here’s how it works:
• You pay now, and your seat is secured in the queue
• We monitor the supplier in real time
• The moment issuance opens, your ticket is generated and sent automatically
No need to check back, rebook, or compete for a spot later — you’re already in line.
Booking early with Advanced Reservation means:
✔ Your price is locked
Even if the rail supplier increases fares later, your ticket will be issued at the price you already paid.
✔ You don’t have to monitor release windows
Our system tracks ticket availability and handles the issuing process for you.
✔ You avoid sold-out trains
For high-demand periods (e.g. holidays, New Year, summer travel), trains often sell out within hours of release. With Rail Monsters, your booking is already secured.
In short: you get a confirmed order without the stress of timing everything perfectly.
It depends on the route, but in most cases:
• Generally, your ticket will be issued 28 days before departure
• Some routes open earlier or later — our system knows the exact timing per supplier
• As soon as the ticket is issued, you’ll receive an email and see it in “My Account” and the app
You’ll always see the current status under your booking:
Confirmed / Pending Ticket → means it’s still queued
Issued → your ticket is ready
We guarantee the price you paid — even if the supplier increases fares later.
For example, if you book a Portugal ticket 6 months in advance for $50, and the price rises to $70 when sales open, we’ll still issue your ticket at $50. No extra charge.
You won’t lose your seat, and you won’t pay more later — unless the ticket becomes unavailable for other reasons (in which case we fully refund).
Yes — if the ticket hasn't been issued yet, you can cancel it from your account under “Cancellations & Modifications.”
• The refund eligibility and amount depend on the specific route and conditions shown at checkout.
• If the ticket has already been issued, changes are no longer possible — but you may still cancel depending on the route.
You’ll always see your options before confirming any cancellation.
